Ajinkya Rahane is in excellent form, scoring three 90+ knocks, one 80+, and a century in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal. He is focused on performing well for Mumbai and says his main goal is to help the team succeed.
“I’m batting well and am happy with my performances,” Rahane said after Mumbai’s win over Haryana in the Ranji Trophy.
Rahane, who made a surprise return to India’s Test squad for the 2023 World Test Championship final, was dropped after a few low scores. He believes he gave his best and still has a lot to offer at the Test level.
“I thought I played well in the WTC final,” Rahane said. “Selection is out of my hands, but I respect Test cricket and still love the game.”
Rahane, 36, last played a Test in July 2023. He remains focused on the upcoming Ranji Trophy semifinal. “Right now, my focus is on the next match,” he said, having scored 437 runs in the Ranji Trophy this season.
